Instructions

SUNBURY CC – 6 a side rules:

There will be two groups of 4 teams. Each team will play the other three teams in their group once. The winning team of each match will get 2 points for a win.

The top two teams will progress to the semi-finals.

If in the case two or more teams are tied at the end of the group fixtures, progression will be determined by most runs scored cumulatively across the group matches.

Normal laws of cricket apply, plus the following:
• Each team will consist of 6 players for each game (including a nominated Wicket Keeper)
• The other 5 team members are required to bowl one (1) six (6) ball over per game (maximum 5 overs per team, 1 innings per team).
• When a batsman reaches 25* they are retired not out (and can come back in, re-joining the order after everyone else has batted/is out. In the instance where more than one player is retired, the first to retire will come back in first).
• In the event of five (5) batsmen being out before the completion of five (5) over’s, the 6th batsman shall continue to bat with the last batsmen acting as a runner only. Either batsman can then be run out. The innings is completed if all 6 batsmen are out before five (5) overs are bowled.
• A wide and no-ball will count as 2 runs and no extra ball, except for the final over where it will count as 2 runs plus an extra ball.
• A no-ball will result in a free hit the following ball.
• Leg side wide rule applies.
• No underarm bowling.
• Bowler’s run ups will be limited – you must run from within the marked zone.
• The Wicket Keeper must wear full wicket keeping gear (box, pads, and gloves) and must field in a normal wicket keeping position. The Wicket Keeper will be designated at the start of the innings by the captain.
• In the event of a tied game, we will have a super over (the score of which will not go towards the cumulative runs scored) where each team will be permitted one (1) further over to be bowled by the wicket keeper (who did not bowl one of the previous 5 over’s). If the scores are still tied, the match to be decided on toss of a coin.
• Each game is expected to be completed within 45 minutes. Please keep time between changes of innings down to a minimum.
