It's been a while, but the club prepares to re-open its doors to the public!

Sunbury Cricket Club opened it's doors to the members one month ago today! Though under strict guidelines provided by the ECB, those who made their way to Kenton Court Meadow were able to begin training once again.

Over the past 28 days, nets have been consistently filled - though only two in use - and Gavin Spencer has done an outstanding job at maintaining the incredibly high ground standards at the club, providing daily usage of middle practice wickets for one-to-one sessions with our coaches!

Further good news was provided a week ago, as the ECB permitted further relaxed rules, allowing group sessions of up to 6 individuals, which has seen adult training resumed on Tuesday and Thursday evenings alongside U17 training on Wednesday's. With the Surrey Championship still keen to provide some form of competitive cricket in 2020, the likelihood of a shortened season beginning in late July is looking more and more like a reality - we can only hope!

Though no definitive dates can be released as of yet due to government guidelines, staff at Sunbury are working incredibly hard to ensure the newly renovated bar is primed and ready when the go-ahead is received! In the meantime, enjoy this superb video from Jonathon Hancock, beautifully capturing the effort going in behind the scenes to ensure the club is in the best position possible to return to something close to normality over the coming weeks.

As always from us at Sunbury, we hope everyone is remaining healthy and safe at home, and hope that you are all as excited to return to this great club as we are to welcome you back!
