Sunbury welcomed Ashtead in the last of the first half of white ball fixtures.
Sunbury were delighted to welcome back David Nash (Nashy) to their side after a four year break, and after winning the toss and electing to bat, he was in.
It was a steady start but after two quick run outs, leaving us 42-2, Sunbury needed to rebuild. Enter Nashy and Darren London, who did exactly that. Both batters played sensibly, taking educated risks when needed whilst also rotating strike excellently. When Darren got out for 60, they had put on 141 together in a partnership that had put Sunbury in the driving seat.
Nashy continued to anchor our innings and brought up a brilliant hundred off 127 balls in-front of a full Sunbury crowd. A fairytale return for the "dog" and hopefully the first of many to come this season.
After brilliant cameos from Alex Hughes and Tommy Burgess, Sunbury finished their innings on 272.
Sunbury started their bowling innings excellently, with Tommy Burgess and Toby Gilbey restricting Ashtead to 51-5 from their opening spell and from there Sunbury kept their advantage, winning the game by 43 runs.
