Sunbury Chieftains in Surrey Trust League Final on Sunday

Sunbury Chieftains are playing in the final of Tier 1 of the Surrey Trust League. This is being played at Valley End Cricket Club on Sunday 27th September. Our opponents are Old Rutlishians U21.

Please come along and support the boys. Start of play is 12:00. Valley End's ground is on Woodlands Lane, Chobham, GU24 8SN.

The last few days have seen a number of developments that affect the operation of the pavilion and bar, and members will need to be aware of the following information.

Closing Time
Some of the national guidelines still need clarification including as to what constitutes closing but the general interpretation is that bars must be closed and drinkers out by 10:00pm.

Revised Advice on Face Coverings
Revised advice issued yesterday reads:
“Face coverings are mandatory on public transport and for customers in a number of indoor premises including at pubs, bars, restaurants, cafés and takeaways. Face coverings may be removed when seated to eat or drink in a pub, bar, restaurant or café. You must put a face covering back on once you finish eating or drinking.”

The advice for staff remains the same. They are required to wear face masks or shields.

Table Service Now Obligatory Inside and Outside the Pavilion
There will be no service at the bar. Table service is now obligatory for members and guests drinking both inside and outside the pavilion. The intention behind the new requirement is to further reduce queuing and mingling.

NHS Track and Trace App: Now Available
Members will have seen the information that the NHS COPVID-19 app for smart phones has been launched today. Useful explanatory information can be found at https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/technology-54270334 . This also explains how to find the app on Android’s Google Play and on Apple’s App Store – in short just look for "NHS Covid-19".

The app is our preferred method of using track and trace services as it will speed up service times from the bar. QR codes have been set up around the bar. Those not using the app will have to register on the hand written record.

Track and trace by either method is obligatory for anyone using the pavilion, including for the sole purpose of accessing the toilets as there is still exposure to touch points and the possibility of encountering someone else en route to or from the toilet areas. Not only is this a legal duty but please remember that you will also be doing this in the interests of others as well as yourselves – there is a moral obligation to ensure that other members will be informed should you have become infected.
