Six at Sunbury Launches

What’s this?
Today we are excited to launch the Six at Sunbury campaign to renovate and upgrade the existing four nets and add two new ones to the complex. We want to ensure that the club has the best possible facilities for members young and old to train in and to develop their game. With a growing membership of adults and juniors, the extension is absolutely necessary to meet the demand. We are particularly enthusiastic about the growth of girls' cricket: there are now four teams with plans to add a new one each year.
What’s the cost?
We need to raise £95,000 to complete the entire project. It’s a lot of money! This includes the refurbishment and upgrade of the existing four nets (new carpets, shock pads, tunnel netting, batting curtains etc) in addition to adding two brand new lanes.
When will this happen?
Our ambition is to have the new nets ready for the start of the 2024 Season. This is, of course, dependent upon the success of our fundraising efforts.
How can you help?
Today we are asking you to consider what you can contribute towards the project and to support us through our Just Giving site. Giving this way enables the club to claim Gift Aid which automatically boosts your donation by 25% at no extra cost to you. You simply have to tick the box confirming that you are a tax payer.
How much should you give?
We are acutely aware of the current cost of living challenges and appreciate that some may not be in a position to support us financially, but for those who can, we do encourage you to give generously!
One-off donations are very welcome, but please consider opting for a standing order to spread donations over a longer period of time. Giving a modest amount every month may be easier for you but the benefit to the club will still be considerable. For example, just £5 per week with Gift Aid will generate £312.50 in 10 months!
Please also check if your employer has a salary sacrifice scheme, which would allow them to match any donations you make - or if your company/employer would be willing to make a corporate donation to the project.
Is it all down to members?
In our wildest dreams we do not expect our members to hand over £95,000. We are actively pursuing every available grant from a variety of sources but member donations are still crucial - not only do they contribute directly, they also help ‘unlock’ funding from elsewhere.
