Roadworks Ahead

…expect delays

Lower Sunbury is about to enter a long period of roadworks which could cause significant delays getting to and from the club. Please factor this in to your journey planning and advise visiting teams accordingly.

Now
There are currently 3-way lights on the Staines Road (A308) at the top of Harfield Road causing some delay. These are due to be there until 26th June.

1st - 6th July
The Hampton Court Flower Show runs in the first week of July. This is likely to cause near-gridlock on the Staines Road (A308) between Sunbury Cross and Hampton Court (and beyond on all approach roads.).

7th July - October
As soon as the flowers have been packed away, a section of the Staines Road (A308) will be closed westbound for approximately 15 weeks so Thames Water can put in bollards next to the reservoir. The section of closed road is 350 metres from Percy Road towards Sunbury Cross. There is an official diversion through Hampton Hill and up to the A316 but given that the diversion is over 10km long it is likely many drivers will attempt to come down the Lower Hampton Road and cut back up to the Staines Road. What effect this will have on have on traffic in Lower Sunbury and around the club is impossible to gauge but it is unlikely to be good. Still, we’re sure the bollards will look lovely when they’re finished.
