Sunday 4th May
The U9s started off our week with a great win, comfortably beating Ashford CC by 38 runs. A solid batting performance from the whole team was backed up with tidy bowling – Zac Patel the most economical in going for just 3 runs off his 2 overs.

Unfortunately, the U8s lost by 28 runs to Hampton Hill, despite an excellent effort with the ball.

It was a successful Sunday for the U13s who comfortably conquered Camberley away from home. After restricting our opponents to 123 for 5 (the most satisfying score to say in cricket) – Ridhaan Gala superb for his 1-4 off 3 overs, the chase was completed in the 16th over as Sunbury secured a 5-wicket win.

Monday 5th May
Two wins from our Sunbury sides on Monday, with the U10s thrashing Indian Gymkhana by 118 runs. Captain Dhamanveer Singh top scored with 30 runs from 15 balls and there were great contributions from Siddarth Mahadevan and Raff Tindall who hit 26 and 25, respectively. A solid bowling performance across the board saw victory was never in doubt; the standout was Dhamanveer’s phenomenal 6 wickets for 11 runs in 3 overs, while a special mention to Will Dixon who bowled 2 overs for 2 runs and picked up 2 wickets (cue Richie Benaud impressions).

Charlie Rice smashed 52 runs as the U12s beat Teddington in a hard-fought thriller. Chasing 154, Ranveer Singh and Rhythm Gala all made valuable contributions with the bat, and Oscar Barnes’ 20 not out off just 11 balls propelled Sunbury to a 5-wicket victory with 3 balls to spare. It was a great team performance against a strong opposition, with also a mention to Oliver Birch who fielded superbly at cover, running out Teddington’s dangerous opener in the second ball of the game.

Tuesday 6th May
Even more wins on Tuesday as the U11s and U14s both comfortably won their games.

The U11s saw off local rivals East Molesey – restricting them to only 85 as Sunbury successfully defended 110. An excellent bowling performance from Adhrit Chadha who conceded 4 runs from his 2 overs and also picked up a wicket.

Batting first, the U14s hit 196 off 20 overs without losing any wickets in their victory over Hampton Hill. It was an extraordinary batting display from Eshan Patel who smashed a superb 96 not out off only 56 balls, while Liam O’Connor was also brilliant in hitting a classy 74 not out off 64 balls. Sunbury kept Hampton Hill to 120-3 – Jack Marland very good up top for his 1-8 off 4 overs.

Wednesday 7th May
It was a wonderful Wednesday for Sunbury, but a bad day to be a Sheen Park fan.

Away from home, the U11s walloped 204 for the loss of just 2 wickets in their remarkable victory over Sheen Park. Ranveer Singh produced a sublime batting performance in hitting an unbeaten 103 off only 62 balls, while Rhishaan Gawans also showed great skill as he hit 50 not out off 40 balls. The bowlers backed up the fine batting display as Sunbury limited Sheen Park to 97-6.

At home, the U13s dispatched Sheen Park in the Cup to secure a place in the regional final. Having been asked to bowl first, Sunbury produced a staggering demolition job of Sheen’s batting lineup; Maximus Williams was wrecking-ball-in-chief as he took 5 wickets for 4 runs in a scintillating 3.4 overs that also included a hat-trick! Sheen were bowled out for a mere 27, which was promptly chased down in 4.1 overs for no loss – Oscar Barnes making a rapid 23 off 13 balls.

Thursday 8th May
Cricket, as they say, is a great leveller and unfortunately the U13s could not repeat the same trick twice as they fell to a narrow defeat against Richmond. Sunbury were set 154 to win, with great bowling from Ridhaan Gala who conceded just 3 runs from his 2 overs and picked up a wicket. Good batting performances from Lucas Cholewa, who hit a run-a-ball 34, and Harry Morris, who smashed 30 off 23, were sadly not quite enough as Sunbury fell 6 runs short of their target.

Friday 9th May
It was a brilliant batting display from the U15s who romped to a 134-run victory over Sheen Park. In a game reduced to 18 overs, Sunbury made 205 – with Rishaan Mehmi pulverising 75 from 27 balls and Charlie Maunders making an excellent 58 off 37 deliveries. A tidy performance from all the bowlers ensured a comprehensive win.

For the U15Bs it sadly wasn't their day, as they lost in the final over in their defeat at Teddington Town. Liam O'Connor and Leo Pearson were the backbone of the Sunbury innings, scoring 47 and 45, respectively, as Sunbury made 130. While Jacob Rice was fantastic with the ball in claiming 2 for 10 off his 4 overs, unfortunately Teddington Town got over the line with just 2 balls remaining.
