Congratulations to U17s, U15s, U14s and U9s finishing League winners in their respective Middlesex leagues.
Sunday 21st July
In the U13s match against Shepperton, Avir Patel scored 33 runs off 25 balls in the Sunbury total of 103. Eshan Patel (4-0-20-3) took 3 wickets in Sunbury’s attempt to restrict Shepperton, however Shepperton got to 104 in 18.5 overs 8 wickets down.
The U12s lost against Egham. Raqeebuddin Mohammed (31), Max Page (33).
Ranveer Singh scored 31* off 13 balls in the U10s loss against Ealing.
The U10s were defeated by Hampton Hill.
Congratulations to the U12s who won a tournament organized by Richmond, which included teams from Wycombe House, Richmond, Ashford, and an Academy side. Sunbury advanced to the final against the Academy side chasing down a target of 102 in 9 overs of a 10 over game. A special mention to Oscar Barnes for his 2 massive sixes and quick fire 30 to make the chase possible!
Monday 22nd July
An impeccable bowling display from the U17bs who kept Finchampstead down to just 96 runs. Hasan Rehman (3-2-1-1) bowled incredibly taking 1 wicket in his 3 overs which went for just 1 run. Aryan Mittra (39) was a key innings in the Sunbury chase. Sunbury scored the winning runs in the 16th over of their innings.
Away at Weybridge, the U14s were put in the field first, and a magnificent display with the ball left Weybridge with a 104-run total. Two quick wickets at the start of the innings left Sunbury on the back foot, however Nishkarsh Jain (43 rtno) and Emma Gillespie (31) built up a strong partnership to get Sunbury to 77/3. Sunbury went on to chase the runs needed in the 19th over.
A strong U13 innings against Horsley & Send, with Adhayan Singh (31 rtno), Avir Patel (30 rtno), and Barnaby Geary (26*) set a target of 157 for Horsley & Send to chase. Brilliant bowling from the whole Sunbury team kept Horsley & Send down to just 99/9.
Tuesday 23rd July
The U17bs lost against Camberley.
An incredible display of bowling from the U14s to bowl Esher out for 90 runs in 17 overs! Emma Gillespie (24) and William Stevenson (25) batted fantastically in the Sunbury chase, reaching the target in the 18th over.
Wednesday 24th July
The tone was set by the U12s in their match against Shepperton, as Eisa Hadi scored 31 runs and Pratyush Vyas hit 30 in the Sunbury total of 157. Extremely tight bowling from Sunbury kept Shepperton down to 91 runs for 9 wickets.
Maybe one of the most nail-biting Cup Finals, was what the U10s experienced against bitter rivals Sheen Park. 127 was the target for Sunbury to chase after a good start with the ball, and it was all to play for! A superb start to the Sunbury innings, as Rishaan Gawans scored a very impressive 32 rtno off 22. Sunbury got extremely close needing 7 to win off the last over with 1 wicket remaining, however at the end of the day Sunbury were all out for 122 with 3 balls left. An all-round incredible effort from the U10s!
Thursday 25th July
The U15s beat Esher by 3 runs at home! Sunbury batted first scoring 122 runs. Rajveer Johal (35) and Liam Martin (39) held the innings together well with a strong partnership. With the ball, Sunbury were also brilliant, with 3 wickets for both Albert Conners (4-0-10-3) and Liam Martin (4-0-12-3) which by the end had won Sunbury the game by just 3 runs!
In the U12 cup Semi-Final against Ashford, Sunbury put on a massive total of 173 with Rhythm Gala scoring 44 runs off 38 deliveries. Ashford were unable to chase this down being bowled out by the Sunbury attack.
The U11s were defeated by Maori Oxshott by 30 runs.
A big win for the U13 Girls in the Hundred-Cup.
Friday 26th July
A win by 15 runs for the U14s against Staines & Laleham. Ayush Obhrai (43).
M James took 3 wickets (3-1-15-3) in the U13bs 3 wicket win over Richmond.
Destruction from the U11s against Roehampton in the Cup Semi-Final. Rishaan Gawans hit a cracking 69 runs off 51 deliveries, Charlie Rice scored a quick 43 off 29 and Lenny Connors 26 off 18. This led to a large total of 165 being scored by Sunbury, which Roehampton were unable to reach falling 94 runs short.
The U10s beat Hampton Hill by 92 runs. Ranveer Singh (2-1-4-4) took 4 wickets for just 4 runs!
