Saturday 20th June
The week got off to a flying start with two strong wins for the girls' sides.
The Girls U12s beat Horsley & Send by 34 runs
A commanding all-round display. Sunbury batted first and cruised to 123-1 from their 16 overs, before the bowlers bundled Horsley & Send out for 89 to seal a comfortable win.
The Girls U11s beat Pyrford by 47 runs
Another fine result, this one decided on the net scoring. Sunbury posted a big 143-2 and Pyrford could only reply with 121-7, leaving Sunbury well clear at the finish.
Sunday 21st June
A huge day across the youngest age groups, headlined by a busy Sixes festival for the U9 and U9/8 sides, plus a full set of league games. Plenty to celebrate.
The U11s beat Bracknell by 61 runs
A dominant performance. Sunbury made 103-7 from their 20 overs and then ran through Bracknell, who were 42-8 when the runs ran out.
The Girls U9s beat Epsom by 8 runs
A tight, well-earned win. Sunbury's 111-6 was just enough as Epsom finished on 93-4 in their 16 overs.
The Girls U11s lost to Banstead by 40 runs
A tougher afternoon for this side. Chasing was always going to be hard after Banstead's 111-4, and Sunbury came up short on 86-7.
The U9s beat Shepperton by 29 runs
A really good chase and total combined. Sunbury racked up 126-6 inside 18.5 overs and Shepperton couldn't keep pace, ending on 87-4.
The U8s beat Chertsey by 12 runs
A nervy one settled on the net scoring. Sunbury's 79-4 held up because Chertsey lost too many wickets in reply, finishing 87-8 and falling just short.
The U9s beat Hampton Hill by 11 runs
A big effort with the bat saw Sunbury post 155 before Hampton Hill replied with 124-6, leaving Sunbury ahead by 11 on the net scoring.
The U10s beat Weybridge
A win recorded for the U10s, with the points going Sunbury's way. The scorecard didn't come through with this one, so there are no totals to report (see the note at the end).
The U9 and U9/8 sides then played a string of six-over games at the Sixes festival, and it was a brilliant day's work all round.
The U9s beat North London by 38 runs
A flying start to the festival, Sunbury racing to 57-1 and keeping North London to 29-3.
The U9s beat Teddington by 6 runs
A close one, edged on the net scoring after Sunbury's unbeaten 56-0 just shaded Teddington's 55-1.
The U9s beat Stoke Newington by 37 runs
The standout six-over total of the day, a superb 81-2, far too much for Stoke Newington, who managed 34-0.
The U9s beat Ealing by 45 runs
Another big win to round off the festival for this side, 54-2 proving way too strong for Ealing's 24-5.
The U9s lost to Ealing by 6 runs
The one that got away for this side. Sunbury actually outscored Ealing's U9A on raw runs (55 to 51) but lost three wickets to Ealing's one, and it cost them on the net scoring.
The U9/8s beat Ealing by 3 runs
A real nail-biter, settled by a single wicket's worth of net score. Sunbury's unbeaten 48-0 just pipped Ealing's 55-2.
The U9/8s beat Hampton Hill by 15 runs
Another tight win on net scoring, the U9/8s' 48-0 holding off Hampton Hill's 53-4.
The U9/8s lost to Ealing by 11 runs
A narrow defeat to Ealing's U9C side, Sunbury's 38-4 just shy of Ealing's 34-1 once the wickets were factored in.
The U9/8s lost to North London by 37 runs
The toughest result of the festival, North London's 68-2 proving too much in reply to Sunbury's 36-3.
Monday 22nd June
A standout pair of wins, including a brilliant cup display.
The U10s beat Wycombe House by 118 runs
A thumping win on the net scoring. Sunbury piled up 168-4, with Varin Sanapati top scoring on 21 from 13 balls and George Hack-Davies (20 from 11) and Henry Anstiss (19 from 13) all going at a brisk rate, four fours apiece. Bertie Quin chipped in with 16. The bowlers were just as ruthless, holding Wycombe House to 105. Thor Rogers was the pick with 3-5 from his two overs, while Henry Anstiss (2-8), George Hack-Davies (2-9), Varin Sanapati (2-10) and Seymuthu Thommadura (2-14) all grabbed a couple.
The U12s beat Wycombe House by 125 runs in the Cup Quarter Final
The performance of the week. Sunbury racked up a massive 225-3, built around a stunning innings from O Birch, who smashed 131 from just 56 balls with 22 fours and four sixes. A Chadha gave him fine support with 53 from 47, and D Jain finished unbeaten on 16. The bowlers then made short work of the reply, Wycombe House all out for 100. R Singh was superb with 2-2 from 1.5 overs, M Hashmi took 2-21 and L Wanigesekera 2-20, while A Chadha bowled a maiden over and picked up a wicket without conceding a run. A brilliant team effort to reach the semis.
Tuesday 23rd June
Three games for the older age groups, with two wins and one defeat. Note that the two U14 sides were in action in different competitions on the same evening, hence the contrasting results.
The U14s beat Effingham by 4 wickets
A composed chase in the Surrey league. Effingham set 148-7, and Sunbury knocked it off to finish 149-6. Ethan Mathieson led the way with a powerful 36 from 23 balls, including three fours and three sixes, while Max Page matched him with an unbeaten 36 from 25 and Akshaj Gupta saw it home on 19 not out. Harry Morris got things moving early with a quickfire 16. The win was set up with the ball, Max Page taking 3-18 and Sanmay Pingle 3-34.
The U13s beat Ashford by 4 wickets
A solid all-round friendly. Sunbury restricted Ashford to 107-8, with D Jain the standout bowler on 2-5 from 2.1 overs and R Paul, A Saluja-Saxena, S Pallant and E Hayat all taking one. The chase to 117-6 was a real team effort, A Sharma and D Jain both retiring on 20 not out and C Pathiranage adding 15.
The U14s lost to Wycombe House by 6 wickets
A tougher night in the Middlesex league. Batting first, Sunbury were bowled out for 80, with L McLeod top scoring on 22 from 29 and L Cholewa making 20. Wycombe House chased it down for the loss of four wickets. R Gala was the best of the bowlers with 2-14, and L McLeod took 1-18.
