Many of you will remember Ian Watts, who served as General Manager here at Sunbury Sports Association. Next Sunday Ian will be lining up at the start of the 2026 TCS London Marathon - his first ever.

His training has not been easy and he has battled persistent calf and knee pain throughout the entire process. In his own words “I’m not renowned for my sporting prowess and I won’t be the fastest person on the course, but I will finish. If it’s midnight and I’m only upright due to a combination of codeine and gaffer tape, so be it.”

Ian is running in support of Shooting Star Children’s Hospice - a charity many of you will know well, providing specialist palliative care for children with life-limiting conditions and their families right here in our community.
