Our Club Player Program Officially Launches!!
After a successful trial in 2016, the club is pleased to announce that our Club Player Program will be launching in full for the forthcoming season. Over the next few weeks we will be inviting a further six colts to join the four from last year’s trial, all of whom have been carefully selected and meet the required criteria. The scheme was suggested and has been initially funded by one of our generous parents/ sponsors.
All the colts in the scheme will be involved in a mixture of one to one and group sessions on a regular basis throughout the spring and summer. The sessions will be run by both the club’s associated professional coaches and the age-related team coaches.
The aim of the program is to develop the all-round cricket skills of both boys and girls in order to benefit them within their own age group and to help them in their transition to weekend development and adult cricket. It will also provide the age-related team coaches the chance to further develop their own coaching skills by working with boys and girls across a range of cricket disciplines, ages and abilities.
The club believes that this program is not only beneficial to all those involved but will have a long-term positive effect on the club as a whole. With that in mind, although our sponsor has agreed in principle to continue supporting the scheme in 2018, we are looking for other sponsors to get involved to expand the program to support more than the current ten boys and girls. If you would like to know more about the scheme or get involved (either from an organisational or financial aspect) please feel free to contact me.
