Forthcoming Events

Fri. 24th November THE MERSEY LEGENDS £7.50 8.30pm

What with the visiting US artists in August, the Beer Festival in September and the unusual privately-promoted Never The Bride show, it seems like ages since we had our last ‘normal’ Music Night back on a sweltering evening in July with Andy Murray on TV at Wimbledon!

So it’s back to more familiar territory for our next Music Night on Friday 24th November when we kick off the festive season unusually early as we welcome back THE MERSEY LEGENDS. They normally do our last show before Christmas, but their availability and the Club availability didn’t match in December, so we have them in November this year. It’s Thanksgiving Day in the USA on the previous day, and Black Friday for the retail industry, so we can safely have an early Christmas rave-up.

The Mersey Legends are led by Yanni, born in Liverpool and who played at The Cavern with his band The Seftons in the heyday of the beat boom – the band were top of the bill when the Cavern re-opened in 1967. He has been true to his Liverpool roots ever since, creating a band and a brilliantly honed act specifically designed to celebrate the great sounds of the Mersey Era. As ever, we will be guaranteed a rip-roaring evening of wall-to-wall Mersey Era classics just like we’ve had for the last four years. There’s more info at The Mersey Legends.

Food will be available as usual, so we look forward to seeing you.

Sun. 26th Nov. THE ‘A’ TRAIN feat. DEBBY BRACKNELL £7.50
Sunday Lunchtime Jazz from 12.30 p.m.
The next Sunday Lunchtime Jazz show at Sunbury Cricket Club is on Sunday 26th November at 1pm, and we are delighted to welcome back THE ‘A’ TRAIN featuring DEBBY BRACKNELL, who performed at our very first Sunday jazz gig last November.

The group plays a stylish brand of mainstream and modern jazz and comprises well-known local bass player Roger Harding, along with pianist Andy Walls and drummer Alan Cottrell. Featured with the band is the renowned singer with the current incarnation of the hit jazz/funk band Shakatak, Debby Bracknell, and her performances are always captivating. It will be a very entertaining and enjoyable show.

Admission is £7.50 at the door. The bar is open from 12 noon, and a bistro-style lunch menu will be available from around 12.30. The band will play two sets with an interval, finishing around 3.30. The spectre of Christmas shopping is looming, so here’s an ideal way to avoid the torture and enjoy something much more worthwhile! We look forward to seeing you there.

Fri. 8th December £7.50
We are delighted to welcome to the club for the first time the Chicago-born guitarist and singer Joe Jammer, who first came to London in 1970 at the invitation of Jimmy Page when he was a roadie for Led Zeppelin. He made an album for EMI soon afterwards, and then joined Paladin, followed by Maggie Bell’s Band before becoming a founder member of funk band Olympic Runners with Pete Wingfield and George Chandler. He has been something of a rock and blues troubadour over recent years, and settled back in the UK several years ago, gigging regularly with his rock ‘n’ roll band as well as doing occasional shows at venues like the Eel Pie Club and Half Moon Putney with his All-Star Chicago Rhythm & Blues Revue, re-creating the music and atmosphere of the sessions that he used to run at Buddy Guy’s Checkerboard Lounge on Chicago’s South Side. Joe is a great showman and it will be a rollicking evening of blues and R&B for the final Music Night before Christmas. More info at

Fri. 12th January THE TREMBLING WILBURYS £10.00
With the Nashville Teens now unavailable for this date, we are delighted to be able to welcome back The Trembling Wilburys. Not just a tribute band but a veritable cavalcade of rock cameos, as a top class line-up performs Travelling Wilburys material, along with Roy Orbison, Bob Dylan, George Harrison, Tom Petty and Jeff Lynne repertoire as well. The band includes Dzal Martin on guitar, originally with No Dice and now also with Terry Reid and The Equals, as well as the uncanny George Harrison persona of Glen Knowler, and Dave Collison recapturing Roy Orbison in startling fashion. They’ve been doing some high-profile gigs around the country, and will give us a really fun night. There’s full info at
