Dublin Club, Clontarf CC, are on tour over the forthcoming bank holiday weekend and will be headquartered in Sunbury.
Clontarf played host to Sunbury on our tour to Dublin in April 2012 and we are delighted to be repaying the compliment. Many members will also know Clontarf as the club from which a number of our Irish players have either originated or who now have playing connections there including Andrew and Stuey Poynter. It is also the new club of our ex Chairman Michael Lowe who will be leading the tourists on their tour.
The Clontarf tour party touch down at Gatwick on the morning of Saturday 30th April to play Oakwood Hill CC in the afternoon. They will be staying in Sunbury however and we may then see them fleetingly or otherwise, we hope otherwise, in the bar on Saturday evening. Thereafter they will be playing matches against Sunbury on Sunday 1st May and again the following day on bank Holiday Monday.
They will brunch gloriously at the Club on both Sunday and Monday to rebalance their biorythms from the ravages of the evening before and so restore the feelgood factor for the rigours of the match ahead – there really is no better feeling.
More news of their visit will follow.
