15 Jul – 3rd XI v Sutton

A vey disappointing day all-round for the 3XI. With spirits high from the win against Reigate the previous week all players were motivated and ready to push on with a win at home against Sutton. This would not be the case as Sunbury were bowled out for a very poor 96 with Matt Richardson being the only batsman reaching 30. Sunbury bowled very well but with such a low total it would have taken a lot to produce a comeback. Matt Richardson and Nish Madan bowled well up top but was not enough and Sutton eventually achieved their target after 36 overs with 4 wickets down. Cannot fault the lads in the field and bowling wise but to get under 100 on a flat deck is not going to cut it when we are looking to challenge for the title. It is a must win game for us against Spencer next week and hopefully we can bounce back with a huge win against the reigning champs.
